Surviving Myocarditis: A Journey from Vaccine Reaction to Recovery

On the 16th of September 2021, I went to get my first and only shot of the Pfizer vaccine, not because I wanted to, in fact, my intuition had told me that this would not have a good outcome, but because I was coerced. The same day I had gone for an interview to work as a recovery facilitator in mental health and addiction, a role I was successful for, and in order to complete my certificate as a support worker, I had to do 200 hours of work placement and be double vaccinated.

I reacted very badly to the vaccine. In fact, I have seen GP’s several times and I went to ED several times. I was transferred from Hawera Hospital to New Plymouth Hospital and in December 2021 I was at my wits end. There were days when I thought I was going to die and there were days when I wanted to die because it didn’t feel like living. In December, I signed up to St. John’s Ambulance I was so unwell that night I was pacing myself with pain down my left arm not sure whether I was going to have a heart attack, stroke, or both. I contacted NZDSOS who diagnosed me with Myocarditis.

After contacting NZDSOS in December I ended up in hospital and I was diagnosed with Pots and chronic fatigue. I was back in Ed several times and back to New Plymouth Hospital with diagnoses from anxiety, low blood pressure, dehydration to migraine.

In November 2022 I was given a Sponsorship from NZDSOS and that was a turning point for me on the path to good health and well being. If it wasn’t for NZDSOS I don’t where I would be NZDSOS have been a lifesaver for me.

In December 2021 when I went to get blood tests taken for NZDSOS there were still blood tests sitting in the computer system back from September when I first went to the medical centre.

The supplements I received from NZDSOS I can honestly say have saved my life. I used to donate blood for years and I have photos of darker smaller clots in my blood, it got thicker and my blood did not come out easily. I can now say that I have improved greatly especially thanks to Louise from NZDSOS who cared for me.

Blessings to you all at NZDSOS I recommend you to anyone I speak with and I am very grateful for the work that you do. If it wasn’t for you many of us who are vaccine injured would be in serious trouble or not even be here.

Thanks for sharing you story – and pleased that you are doing fine. I reached out for support from the NZDSOS team when I had a bought of the Omicron variant, they were excellent in their support.
